How consultations work at Skin Art MD
What happens at your first visit, how we plan treatment with you, and what to expect before and after. Skin Art MD is a physician-led clinic in Metrotown, Burnaby.
What happens at a first consultation?
We ask about your concerns, health history, medications and allergies, and look at your skin. Then we explain the options that fit: what each involves, how many visits it usually takes, downtime and cost. You decide whether and when to go ahead. Consultations can be in the clinic or by phone.
Will I be pushed into treatments or products?
No. We lay out the options side by side, including doing less or waiting, and the decision is yours. Skincare products are suggestions, never a condition of treatment.
How is a course of treatment planned?
Many treatments are done as a series. We tell you the usual number of sessions up front, check how your skin is responding between visits, and adjust the plan. When you book online you can choose your practitioner, and you can ask to see the same person each time.
I am nervous about needles or pain. What can I do?
Tell us when you book or at the start of your visit. We explain what you are likely to feel, which comfort options suit that treatment, and you can ask to pause at any time.
What aftercare and follow-up will I get?
We go through aftercare with you before you leave and tell you what is normal in the days after. If anything worries you, call the clinic at +1 (604) 639-2581. If you are unsure whether it is urgent, call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1; in an emergency, call 911.
Are results guaranteed?
No. Results vary from person to person, and a physician assessment decides whether a treatment is suitable for you.
Which languages do you speak?
Consultations are offered in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Naturopathic consultations with Dr. Ekaterina Krantsevich Riehl, ND are in English.
How do I book, reschedule or cancel?
Book online or call +1 (604) 639-2581. Please give at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule; late cancellations and no-shows may be charged a fee. The clinic is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 18:00, and closed on Mondays.
