What Is EMFACE and How Does It Lift?
EMFACE is a needle-free facial treatment that delivers radiofrequency heat and HIFES™ muscle stimulation together through applicators placed on the skin. It is aimed at skin quality and facial muscle tone. At Skin Art MD in Burnaby (Metrotown), one or two areas take about 30 minutes, and a course is usually 4 to 6 sessions depending on response. Individual results vary.
Many facial treatments address only the skin. EMFACE works on two layers at once: radiofrequency warms the dermis to prompt collagen renewal, while HIFES™ stimulates facial muscles to contract. A physician assessment decides which areas and how many sessions suit you.
Muscle stimulation
HIFES™ prompts facial muscles to contract, working on tone and definition.
Skin warming
Radiofrequency warms the dermis to prompt collagen renewal, supporting texture and fine lines.
Needle-free
Applicators sit on the skin; there are no injections and no incisions.
How Does EMFACE Work?
Radiofrequency and HIFES™ are delivered at the same time through the same applicators.
Radiofrequency heating
Warms the dermis to prompt collagen and elastin renewal.
HIFES™ muscle stimulation
Prompts repeated contractions of facial muscles.
Synchronized delivery
Both energies are delivered together in one session.
Area-specific applicators
Applicators are placed on areas such as the cheeks, forehead and jawline.

EMFACE Burnaby: Common Questions
How does EMFACE work, and which areas can it treat?+
EMFACE delivers radiofrequency heat and HIFES™ muscle stimulation together through applicators on the skin. The RF warms the dermis to prompt collagen renewal, while HIFES™ makes facial muscles contract to support tone. It is commonly planned for the cheeks, forehead and brow, jawline, eye area and neck, depending on your anatomy.
How long is an EMFACE session, and does it hurt?+
About 30 minutes for one or two areas, and roughly twice as long for more areas. Most people feel warmth, a tingling sensation and gentle muscle contractions rather than pain, and no numbing is typically needed. Energy levels can be adjusted for your comfort throughout.
How many EMFACE sessions do I need?+
A course is usually 4 to 6 sessions, about a week apart, depending on how you respond. The physician confirms the number of sessions and areas at your assessment so the plan fits your face and goals.
When will I see EMFACE results, and how long do they last?+
Some people notice early improvement within a few weeks, and the effect keeps developing over about 3 months. Results are not permanent, and many people discuss periodic maintenance sessions after the course; the right timing varies by person. Individual results vary.
Is there downtime after EMFACE?+
Most people resume normal activities the same day. Temporary redness or warmth is possible. Apply sunscreen, avoid direct sun and keep skincare gentle; your clinician reviews aftercare with you.
What are the possible side effects of EMFACE?+
Common effects are a feeling of warmth, temporary redness and, sometimes, muscle tiredness or tenderness after the session. EMFACE is not suitable for everyone, so the physician reviews your history and treatment areas before starting and explains what to watch for.
Will EMFACE make my facial muscles bigger?+
EMFACE is designed to support muscle tone and firmness through repeated contractions, not to build bulk. Planning is tailored to your face, and the physician discusses realistic expectations at assessment. Individual responses vary.
How does EMFACE compare with injectables?+
EMFACE works on muscle tone and collagen without needles; fillers add volume and neuromodulators relax muscles. They do different things, and plans can combine or sequence them after assessment, including with other treatments.
Who should not have EMFACE?+
People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a pacemaker, defibrillator or certain implants, have a history of epilepsy or seizures, or have an active skin infection or open wound should speak to the physician first.
How much does EMFACE cost in Burnaby?+
Cost depends on the areas treated and the number of sessions. We do not publish prices online; the physician assessment confirms your plan and the cost.
