What Is Emsculpt and How Does It Work?
Emsculpt is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to cause strong muscle contractions, with no needles or incisions. At Skin Art MD in Burnaby (Metrotown), a physician assessment decides which areas to treat and how many sessions to plan.
The manufacturer describes a 30-minute session as delivering around 20,000 contractions, far more than can be done voluntarily. This stimulation is intended to strengthen and tone the muscle in the treated area. Emsculpt is a body contouring treatment, not a weight-loss treatment.
Supramaximal Contractions
Induces intense muscle contractions that are difficult to reach through voluntary workouts.
Muscle Toning
Aimed at strengthening and toning the muscle in the treated area. Some systems also add radiofrequency to the treated tissue; your physician will explain the device used.
Non-Surgical Buttock Toning
Targets the gluteal muscles to firm and shape the area without surgery. Results vary.
